Fiscal Officer
The Fiscal Officer is a member of the Management team. The position requires advanced professional level accounting work with a non-profit agency involving recording, allocating, review, and reconciliation of financial records to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards. Tasks include a wide variety of accounting, financing, and bookkeeping tasks in administered programs from Federal, state and local resources. Position also includes review of program performance requirements. The Fiscal Officer’s work is performed under the supervision of the Executive Director. Salary Range is $70,000-$85,000 based on experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Creating and implementing cost allocations to administered programs.
Coordinate program financial monitoring from funding sources.
Monthly preparation of financial reports for the Executive Director, Board of Directors and funding agencies.
Prepares agency and grantor budgets and financial schedules.
Posts, balances, and reconciles accounting records.
Coordinate reconciliation of the state’s Hancock system to accounting records.
Coordinates annual independent audit and state monitoring of accounting records.
Responsible for payroll and payroll tax filing as well as W-2 preparation.
Oversee and coordinate insurance coverages and claims for the agency and coordinate Workers Compensation Audit and notifications.
Maintain equipment inventory. Coordinate annual physical inventory for equipment, fixed assets, and inventory items.
Ensure proper internal controls are in place
Administer 403b plan. Enrollments, employer and employee contributions. Ensure 550 tax forms are filed on a timely basis, annual notifications, coordinate and approve distributions.
Attend management meetings monthly to track organizational goal progress and provide input for budget preparation and planning.
Support Assistant Director with benefits enrollment and tracking.
As needed on a periodic or temporary basis, and as feasible, cover responsibilities of the Assistant Director and Executive Director
Other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting AND one (1) year of accounting experience.
OR
Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field AND four (4) years of professional experience in accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of grant reporting and requirements
• Experience with non-profit and grants
Special Requirements:
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
